3. Correspondence
Have received a letter from NYCC Highways with relevant contact telephone numbers. A meeting regarding low-flying aircraft has been arranged by John Grogan MP to be held at Sherburn Airfield – BC and JA to attend. There is to be a Funding Fair at Selby – BC and JA to attend. Letter re verges on bypass, verges to have rubbish removed and be reseeded by SDC. Drax
Power station has withdrawn its proposal for increasing emissions limit. NYCC
Community Education Service are running a pilot project in Richmondshire,
through parish and town councils, to engage young people in their
communities. Standards
Board letter regarding consultation on local investigation of
allegations of misconduct. Letter from Planning Dept re. complaints procedure has been received, suggesting that complaints from residents could be given to Parish Councils who would then fill in the complaints form. This to be publicised, as before, in the Newsletter.
4. Village Play Area
Our District Councillors have to be satisfied that all options have been fully explored. To this end it was agreed to write to Mrs L Huddlestone re the lease on a piece of land she currently holds adjacent to Wrights Lane.
5. Cridling Stubbs Educational Trust Fund
A committee has now been set up and will hold a meeting on 26 April at 7pm in the Village Hall.
6. Planning application
No observations re application by Mr Kilner at Stubbcroft for conservatory at rear of property.
7. Floral Displays at the Village Entrance
It was decided to write to the Secretary of the Community Trust Fund for £300 to provide stone troughs at either end of the village to be able to extend the planting scheme. Volunteers have the cultivation of bedding plants under way for the summer.
The
builder of the stone signs to be asked to quote for stone work. Proposed
by MW sec by JA. All

8. Cridling Stubbs Community Trust Fund
Councillor Longley updated the meeting. Monies should very soon be available as the committee is in the process of setting up a bank account.
9. Village Hall update
The Chairman of the Village Hall Management Committee was unable to attend therefore this item was carried over to the next meeting.
10. AOB
There has been no response from Onyx re the request for litter pickers. Will pursue this with Selby District Council.
BC and JA to look into increase UK Coal wagons on the bypass.
11. Public Question Time
A resident drew attention again to the problems with the building site at the bottom of Cobcroft Lane, adjacent to Aesculetum. It was decided to write to all owners of building sites in the village re safety issues.
The lack of a bus shelter in the village was highlighted. Councillor J Vause asked that this request be put in writing to him.
A snooker table was offered to the village hall. BC offered to open the village hall on Fri 2 Apr for 2 hours from 7-9pm and invite youngsters of the village to come along for table tennis and snooker.
Darrington Quarries update re the progress in Darrington East was given. Still being filled in but is dependent on good weather conditions.
12. Date of next meeting
The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Wed 12 May at 7pm.
This will also be the Annual General Meeting.
