2 Matters arising

 

There were no matters arising.

 

3 Public Question Time

 

Letter from Ian Pearson confirming that retired passes can be uses on services from North to South Yorkshire.

 

Regarding the timetable from Arriva they can make small adjustments to the timetable without permission therefore they have withdrawn the 16.35 bus service from Pontefract to Cridling Stubbs.

 

A questionnaire is to be sent out regarding the bus service.

 

It was also suggested that a representative from Arriva be invited to attend a meeting to discuss the 414 service.

 

It was also suggested that a request is sent to South Yorkshire buses regarding a service to Cridling Stubbs.

 

A villager showed concern regarding the burning of rubbish.

5 Selby Dial

 

A donation request has been received from Selby Dial but has been declined.

 

6 NYCC Stopping Off Order

 

It is proposed to install gates to access roads by the M62.

 

7 Ryecat Limited

 

Regarding Wheels to Work scheme. It was agreed to put a poster in the village notice board.

 

8 SDC Charity Appeal

 

A request from SDC for a donation to their charity appeal was declined.

 

9 Society of Local Council Clerks

 

Regarding a contract of employment this is to be placed on Octobers agenda.

 

10 SDC Funding Fayre

 

It was decided that no one would he attending

 

11 Parish Boundary

 

4 letters were sent to residents on Northfield Lane and 4 wished to stay in Womersley Parish with 1 wishing to join Cridling Stubbs Parish.

 

7 letters were sent to residents of Hanover Green and 7 wish to join Cridling Stubbs Parish.

 

The parish council is to go ahead with proposals for Hanover Green to join Cridling Stubbs.

 

12 Joint Action Meeting

 

A meeting is to take place at Eggborough Methodist Church on Monday 9 October 2006 at 7.00 pm prompt to discuss any problems in your area.

 

13 Playground Update

 

Nothing has been heard from NYCC as yet.  Peter Murphy from Selby Groundwork suggested that we do not put play equipment on the site and that instead we put tunnels etc. to let the children make their own enjoyment. Alison Body acting head of Legal at NYCC is to be contacted regarding the playground.

 

14 Arson Attack

 

On Thursday 7 September 2006 at about 1 l.00pm the bam and chicken huts on the community garden area were set alight with the result that the bam and chicken huts were burnt to the ground and sadly 19 chickens perished.

 

The owner of the community gardens who had kindly let the village have use of this land has said that he does not wish the bam to be rebuilt, but the members of the Greenish Fingers wish to rebuild the chicken huts. The parish council have kindly donated £20.00 to the Greenish Fingers to help with rebuilding costs.

 

MW suggested that CCTV be installed around the village, SDC Safety Fund are to be asked to visit to discuss this and to discuss funding.  The Fire Service and Police will also be asked to attend.

JA wished to know why the police would take no action against illegal use of motor bikes within the village. This is to be put on October's Agenda.
