Cridling Stubbs Parish Council

 

13 June 2007

 

Members present: B Crossdale, J Adams, M Shepherd, C Wilson and M Williams.

 

The Clerk, Mrs L Walker was absent.  The Chair requested a volunteer to take the minutes of the meeting.   None were forthcoming and so the Chair took the minutes.

 

1 Minutes of the Last Meeting

 

The minutes were signed as a true record.

 

2 Matters Arising

 

None

 

3 Public Question Time

 

A resident told Members that Plasmor wagons were causing a hazard on Womersley Road as it enters Knottingley due to the narrowness of the road.

 

A resident reported that the two sets of traffic lights (one temporary) were recently out of action.

 

A resident asked if Councillor Ivey had investigated the increase in the number of Directors at Selby DC as she had said she would do recently.  The Chair said he would ask her.

 

A resident asked if South Yorkshire Motors were going to run an hourly 412 bus service in July.  The Chair said he would investigate.

 

4 Correspondence

 

No questions were asked about the correspondence.

 

5 Reports from Various Meetings

 

Councillor Adams reported she had attended a Trustees Meeting of the Playing Fields Association.  A Playground of the Year competition had been launched and it was noticeable that 5 of the 7 entries were for playgrounds in the Scarborough area.

 

6 Payments

 

Village website - £35.25

Grass cutting - £100

Printing - £19.22

 

All agreed to pay.

 

7 Audit 2007

 

The compliance form for the external auditors was agreed and signed.

 

8 Councillor Training

 

It was agreed that Councillor Wilson would attend training for new parish councillors.

 

9 Smart Water

 

North Yorkshire Police have approached all parish councils in Selby district to ask if they would pay a subsidised rate of £15 per household to introduce the Smart Water scheme into villages.

 

It was decided that Cridling Stubbs Parish Council had not budgeted for such a project and as such could not afford to enter the scheme.

 

10 Any Other Business

 

The Parish Council has been asked to nominate a councillor to represent parishes in the south of Selby on the Selby Area Committee.  As nominations had to be returned before the date of the next scheduled meeting, it was decided to nominate Councillor Adams as the representative.
