Cridling Stubbs Parish Council 11 October 2006
Members present: B Crossdale, M Shepherd, J Adams and M Williams.
Apologies from S Longley and the clerk, Lynda Walker. In her absence and with no objections or other volunteers, BC minuted the meeting.
1 Minutes of the last meeting
The minutes were signed as a true record.
2 Matters Arising
MS asked about the tunnel in Item 13.
3 Public Question Time
Alan Chisem spoke about Womersley Road level crossing in Knottingley. He said the signal box had been removed and the crossing upgraded. However, now the gates the closed for a long time before a train appeared. This caused traffic to queue for a long distance in all directions and was dangerous. It was decided to write to Network Rail to point this out with a copy to Yvette Cooper MP, John Grogan MP and the police.

No questions.
5 Society of Local Council Clerks Terms of Employment
Due to the absence of the clerk, this item was adjourned to be put on the next agenda.
6 Illegal use of motorbikes
BC reported that Parish Councillors are receiving complaints of motorbikes being driven illegally on Wrights Lane and in the field to the west of Croft Lea. It was decided to write to the owner of the field, David Downham to ask if he could roughly plough the field to deter this. BC said that the police had been informed of these activities at the Joint Action Group meeting a few days earlier and they would look into the matter.
7 Extra grass cutting
JA said that Cutting Hedge had offered to cut the grass one more this year at a reduced rate. It was decided to take up this offer.
8 Planning Application – The Cottage, Cridling Park
There were no comments or observations.
9 Selby District Safety Partnership Training Courses
It was decided that MW and MS would attend the course (if they could take time off work).
10 Parish Requirements 2007/08
JA reported on what had been spent this year and the likely cost of the same next year. The parish plan projects were considered and members of the public consulted. It was decided that an extra £350 was required to start these projects. Therefore £1610 would be the precept for 2006/07.
11 Letter to Yorkshire Water
BC reported that due to the recent disruption and inconvenience caused by the pipe laying by Yorkshire Water, he had written to them asking for a donation to the Village Hall Restoration Fund. A reply had not yet been received.
12 Payments
Printing of newsletters by Osgoldcross Forum - £3.65 Grass Cutting - £100 All agreed to pay.
12 Any Other Business
MW reported that the drains were again blocked recently. It was agreed to write to YWA again.
JA reported that she had attended her first meeting of the Playing Fields Association as an executive member. She has been appointed to the “Playground of the year” committee.
MS reported he had attended his first meeting of the Womersley Burial Board.
It was decided to place “Reports from various meetings” on to every agenda.
