4. Membership of Society of Local Council Clerks

 

J.A. proposed and M.S. seconded the proposal to join the society.  All agreed.

 

5. Planning Application

 

Fern Cottage, Wrights Lane - application to build an attached garage.  There were no observations.

 

6. Accounts 2004-2005

 

The accounts were recorded as a true record and to be signed off - proposed by M.W. and seconded by M.S.  All agreed.

 

7. Vehicles Speeding in the Village

 

The parish council are to seek advice as to whether the parish council can intervene regarding individuals speeding and whether the parish council can have a word with individuals speeding.

 

8. Grass Treatment

 

The Parish are to get quotes for the treatment of grass.

 

9. Village Playground

 

N.Y. Highways have still not heard from legal department, B.C. will chase it up. The parish have received a quote from Record Playgrounds and a brochure from Wickstead, and are to try to get more quotes.

 

10. Payments

 

Renewal of insurance: the parish council have tried to obtain two more quotes lower than Alliance Cornhill but failed, renewal to be made to Alliance Cornhill at a cost of £244.28.

Postage stamps £3.60 passed for payment.

Playing Field Association renewal £12.50 passed for payment.

Grass cutting £100.00 passed for payment.

 

11. Any Other Business

 

Womersley Burial Board has vacancy for clerk, notice to be put on Cridling Stubbs notice board.

M.W. asked if anyone knew what was happening in the grounds of the Manor House.  There was nothing the parish council could do about it, as he is officially doing landscaping gardening.

Cheque received from Community Fund for grass cutting and letter of thanks will be sent to the Community Fund from the Parish Council.

Neighbourhood Watch Scheme has noted that they are not receiving any phone calls.

B.C. is to bring this up at C.I.P. meeting. M.S. has tried to get through to the police on 0845 6060247 and has held on for quite a while and as yet has had no success in getting through to the police on this number.

M.W. asked for an update of Ferrybridge tip but as yet there is nothing to report.
