1 Minutes of the Last Meeting
The minutes were signed as a true record.
2 Matters Arising
JA asked for an update regarding the blocked gulleys and drains, this has been reported to James Malcolm who will visit the village to assess the problem. This item to be put on November agenda.
BC is to contact South Yorkshire Motors bus company regarding the persistent missing of buses in the village. BC also to contact G Ivey. This item to be placed on November agenda.
JA asked for an update on item 7 and this is still ongoing.
3 Public Question Time
There were no questions.
4 Reports from various meetings
MS has attended a Womersley Burial Board meeting and has reported that there is no price increase.
BC attended a JAG meeting and the police said that they do not want speeding issues to be brought up at JAG meetings but would prefer parish councils to bring up these issues with the police.
5 Correspondence
NYCC – Selby Area Service Centre Transportation Strategy – BC attended a meeting to discuss a bus service to Selby: this is to be considered. NYCC – regarding the licence for the playground a consultation with highways to be done. A letter to be sent to Leyna Stewart and David Bowe. A letter from Nigel Adams (Conservative Party) asking if there were any issues within the village. He is to be invited to attend a meeting.
6 Untidy Land on Cobcroft Lane
A letter from SDC planning department has been received stating that no action is to be taken as the owner is allowed to have a caravan, container and JCB temporary whilst building work is being carried out. BC and LW went to SDC legal department and had a meeting with Mike Rice and asked him the definition of temporary as the caravan etc. had been on the land for at least 6 years and the caravan is connected to mains drains and water. He said he would look into this and BC and LW are to arrange another meeting with him and prepare a report for December agenda.
7 Proposed Windfarm
BC proposed that a village meeting be called to get a view from the villagers and would arrange for someone from both sides of this issue to attend.
8 Payments
Grass cutting £100 Village Hall (donation from Balfour Beattie) £100
All agreed to pay.
9 Any Other Business
MS has contacted Vodafone regarding poor reception and has been told that they are to increase power on the surrounding masts.
JA brought up the subject of SDC adopting the parish plan. Councillor Mark Crane, leader of Selby DC is keen to push this through. An update to be on December agenda.
