received from Councillors M Williams, J Adams and G Ivey. 4. Appointment of Parish Clerk (Item brought forward on Agenda)
Mrs
Lynda Walker volunteered to become the Clerk, initially just taking
minutes. All
agreed to this appointment.
1. Minutes of Last Meeting
The
minutes were signed as true record after all agreed.
2. Matters arising
It was asked if residents’ names should be recorded when asking questions from the floor. This will be looked into.
3. Correspondence
Consultation
on changes to Regional Planning Guidance. Consultation
on Model Code of Conduct for Employees. Selby
District Council- Ten Year Vision consultation. Osgoldcross
Parish Council Forum meeting 30 Sep 2004, BC and MS attending. Nuisance
trees and hedges, complaints to local authority. Proposed
modification to Local Plan re mainly housing in Sherburn in Elmet. Renew
wedding vows info which NYCC are promoting. Local
Crime Prevention Projects. Selby
and Tadcaster Farmers’ Markets, 1st Wednesday in month and 3rd
Thursday respectively. Community
Legal Services. Windpower
from Powergen. Courses
on web site building - £5 fee if anyone wants to attend.
5. Darrington East Restoration
Bob
Binstead is prepared to give the whole area to the Parish Council but
the owners of DQL are being consulted. Re
insurance, Parish Council already have £1,000,000 indemnity.
DQL have to maintain trees for 5 years, they want a sketch of how
big an area is needed. 60m
x 40m. Footpath around site, definitely no standing water has been
promised. Gate to allow
pedestrian access only, will cater for wheelchairs/pushchairs. The
entrance will be where it is now and as far away from the railway line
as possible.
6. Cridling Stubbs Educational Trust Fund
Agreed that JA and MW are the two Parish Council reps along with MS (village hall), John Vause (NYCC) and Gillian Ivey (SDC). Prop SL, seconded MS.
7. Fly Tipping
NYCC looking into the question of ownership of land at level crossing re enclosure of land and levelling of the site. All agreed to a press release to residents of West Yorkshire through letter to Pontefract and Castleford Express. Press SDC harder for some prosecutions as deterrent.
8. UK Coal /Womersley Quarry
Maxine Anderson and BC to attend Liaison meeting 14 Sep 2004. No correspondence received from any of the bodies concerned. Environment Agency preparing to take legal action against guilty parties. No villagers have received compensation for the smell. BC wants £1,000 per household compensation. Agreed to ask at UK Coal meeting what they are prepared to offer in way of compensation. Village may take legal advice.
9. Floral Displays
Permission for stone trough and seat at southern end of Croft Lea applied for. Price to be found for this and daffodil bulbs.
10. Public Rights of Way
All
agreed to reinstate footpath from end of Wrights
Lane to motorway bridge.

acquired re running businesses from home/planning consents.
13. Public Question Time
Condition of level crossing, it has been repaired but is still in poor condition.
Proposed playground at (northern) end of village, NYCC envisage no problem.
