3 Correspondence
Selby District Council - Continental Market at Tadcaster has been cancelled. S.D.C. Quarterly newsletter for parish councils – see Item 8. Y.L.C.A. Minutes of joint executive committee meeting on 23 April 2005, White Rose Update and details of next Selby branch meeting on 13 June 2005. S.D.C. Planning decision proposed erection of a single attached garage at Fern Cottage- granted. Shaw and Sons- Brochure. S.D.C. Electoral Services - Confirmation of parish councillors’ details held by S.D.C. British Waterways - Plan for the future, posters to be put in village notice board. Selby AVS general newsletter.
4 Planning Applications
Observations on Fern Cottage - application for dwelling to rear. Yorkshire Water should be approached by S.D.C. regarding connecting any more dwellings. There may be a possibility of overlooking or overshadowing The Old School and the Old School House and maybe to West View.
Observations on conversion of Ancient Shepherd to a dwelling - a letter is to be sent from the parish clerk to S.D.C. with a copy of the advert for the sale of the Ancient Shepherd as a public house, stating it has not been advertised correctly.
5 Accounts Audit 2004-2005
Regarding the internal audit it is proposed to approach John Hardy, Shepherds Cottage, Cridling Stubbs to see if he is willing to complete the audit.
6 Village Playground
Second quote received from Wickstead with price for two types of playground. Parish Council to get a further quote, one like option 1 and a free reign option. Highways legal department have still not been in touch with parish council.
7 Amberwatch 24/7 Initiative
Regarding free extra street lighting for the village. This type of street lighting has a matrix sign on which the parish council can put anything it wishes i.e. car driver trying to abduct children. This street light has an advertisement board and the parish council would receive between £1,000 and £1,200 from advertising revenue. Also there is a possibility of a mobile C.C.T.V. being erected on the lamp post. J.A. showed concerns regarding the size and location of the street light. M.S, also suggested that this be put to the villagers for their observations. B.C. will try to get further information. This item is to be on the next agenda.
8 S.D.C. Newsletter for Parish Councils
The district council propose a quarterly newsletter and want to know what Cridling Stubbs parish council would want included in the newsletter - maybe condense information and promote best practice.
9 Payments
Grass cutting £100 all agreed to pay this. Website payment £30 plus VAT all agreed to pay this.
10 Any Other Business
Darrington Quarry Liaison Committee Quarry report 7.6.05. Kickabout area will be seeded in the autumn and trees will be planted in November. Fly tipping on Fulham Lane, Womersley, computers have been dumped. Thanks given to parish council from the Community Fund for “thank you” letter re. grass cutting.
11 Public Question Time
Villager said that a settee had been dumped between Womersley and Stapleton. Villager showed concern regarding skimming of footpath as it is in poor condition.
