5 Planning Application Darrington East
This application has not yet formally been received. An email has been received regarding this application, content regarding the import of ballast and this will not increase traffic. JA suggested that they were asked to use the A1 at Darrington. SL said this application should be scrutinised when it is received.
6 Planning Application NYCC for storage of Landfill Gas Utilisation Engines.
Observations – If it is only for the storage of 3 engines then no problem, but if use is for other items then they must get planning permission.
7 Planning Application from Manor Grange Stud for erection of stables
Observations - The council would prefer the stables to be made of wood considering the land is green belt.
8 Yorkshire Rural C.C.
Application for membership 2006-2007 at a cost of £25.00 this was passed for renewal.
9 SDC Local Development Framework
They would like the view of the parish council as to how they can better consult the parish council.
A letter is to be sent to them with the parish views which are, to make better use of the parish newsletter and website.
10 Condition of Roads
A letter has been sent to UK Coal requesting information, a copy of this letter has been sent to J Grogan MP, J Ivey, Robert Smith and Paul Shepherd.
JA BC and G Ivey met with Paul Shepherd to show him round the village.
Areas covered were the emergency motorway slip road. fly tipping sometimes blocks this slip road, the Highways Agency are to erect a gate across this.
Footpaths
around the village are to be inspected. The
top of Wrights Lane at the junction of Northfield Lane, the problem as
vegetation round the telegraph pole and to investigate the lowering of the
hedge and cutting it back. Darrington
East Speed
of traffic, proposed erection of pedestrian crossing sign to warn drivers
of the hazard. Paul Shepherd
thinks that because the road is of good condition that legally in his
opinion there is no call for a reduction of speed limit. The entrance outside UK Coal, Womersley tip re surfacing of the road needs to be done.
11 Postcodes
JA has spoken to Paul Atkinson, NYCC Committee Services in regard to this.
The parish should put this in writing for their consideration and to add to their next agenda.
12 Dog Fouling
Suggested
sites for dog fouling bins, one at the end of Wrights Lane. The parish are
to apply to SDC for this. 13 Bus Services

forms were given out and to date 18 have been received back. It was suggested that a press release regarding this is to be sent to local newspapers and Look North.
14 Telephone Mast
The parish council cannot get involved in this due to Health and Safety reasons but this is to be put in the newsletter giving the villagers contact numbers for any complaints they may have.
15 Riding of Motorbikes
Mr Downham has still not replied about this problem Bob Binstead of Darrington Quarries has some boulders which could be put across the gaps in the hedge. JA is to try and contact Mr Downham.
