Members present:  J Adams, B Crossdale, S Longley, M Shepherd, M Williams.

 

Election of Chairman:  B Crossdale elected.

 

1.   How are we to conduct the meetings?

 

Post minutes to councillors of meetings prior to forthcoming one.

Members of the public to speak for 3 minutes maximum, after giving prior notice of 24 hours to a councillor.

They can speak during an agenda item before voting.

Non-agenda items to be brought up in A.O.B (30 mins) at the end

3 minutes sounded specific – but is as NYCC.

Trial 3 mins. for 6 months.

2.   Newsletters and Flyers

 

Village has been divided into 5 sections, Councillors to distribute

 

3.   Womersley Burial Joint Committee

 

A. Hallam gave info.  1 meeting per year.

J Adams volunteered.

 

4.   Bank Name Change for signing cheques arranged

 

Cheques signed re Audits of accounts.

 

5.   Selby District Association of Volunteer Services (AVS)

 

Help in photocopying, fund raising, clerical support et.

Cost £15.00? a year

Try for a year, Cheque to be sent

Buying the pub, how much support?

Selby Planning Dept. to discuss on 16th May .

S. Longley said had comments that disagreed re. Funding from Education Trust Fund.

2nd flyer – People were happier.

E.T.F. half of money to be used.

Issue of money “in the air”.

Village Hall valued at £75k to £100k at auction – Need to advertise in local newspapers and have a meeting of all adults in village.

Price of pub?

Taken off market in Nov 2002 (Estate agent in York).

Selby DC Planning officer has no details of what was for sale initially.

All but 2 of the 5 – 17 year old have signed to say “we want it” –the playground.

Money from sale of Village Hall to be used for Villagers.

Money from DQL “Planning Gains” is available from the extraction of 2.8 million tonnes.

 

Will Pub be a going concern?  Do people want it?

If planning is granted can we appeal?  Costly.

 

Bungalows nr Manor House – Highways Dept. asked to include Drive for The Nook.

Planning Committee to meet on 14th re. this.
