6. DQL Update
Site
visit 2 weeks ago - County Councillors told what was happening recently. Four
points discussed: 1
– Restoration of Darrington East. Nothing
finalised, higher level, but still below ground. No
standing water. Parish
wants it as high and as woody as possible. Can’t
really comment as plans not final. Planning Department - want longer period of formal management.
2
– Northern Extension Will
give agreement not to pursue landfill at D.Q. “Section 106” wording to include any successors and to include all DQL operations.
3
– Trust Fund Parish
has been offered £5,000.00 per annum for duration of quarrying – 2.8
million tonnes – perhaps 8-9 years. Cridling
Stubbs approached DQL about this. Parish
has 3 choices : Accept £5,000.00, ask for more or ask for Lump Sum. Once
got planning, DQL will move from Darrington East. Decided to ask for Lump Sum for a specific project – Village hall in addition to £5,000.00 per annum – and not to use Landfill Tax Credit yet.
4
– Highways Issues Asked
for the two 90 degree bends and crossroads at Golf Course to be improved. Golf
Course crossroads to be improved as part of A1 Link. Bends
not considered a problem though by WMBC. We
consider the size of wagons the problem. Invite
a member of Wakefield Met. to view site. Not traffic level, it’s the type of traffic.
7. Any Other Business

illegal– pursue Highways dept
