Cridling Stubbs Parish Council Annual General Meeting 12th May 2004
1 Election of Chairman (County Councillor Vause in the Chair due to the Clerk’s absence)
Proposed by JA, sec SL that Bryan Crossdale be elected again. All in favour.
Councillor Crossdale took the Chair.
2 Acquisition of Village Play Area update.
Despite continuing efforts, to date there has been no success in acquiring land for a play area. It has been suggested that the area of land at the northern end of Wrights Lane might be suitable and NYCC Highways should be approached re leasing/selling the land. It was agreed to join the Playing Fields Association in order to benefit from their expertise. Proposed JA, sec SL, all in favour.
3 Cridling Stubbs Educational Trust Fund update.
An awards scheme is being set up by the Trust Fund Committee, details have been sent to NYCC Finance Director John Moore asking for his approval. Money is also to be asked for to help with the acquisition of land and equipment for a playground. The boundary within which the monies can be spent is to be clarified as the trust deed states “Parish of Cridling Stubbs”.
4 Cridling Stubbs Community Trust Fund update.
Money will shortly be available for community projects. Councillor Longley is asking for written applications for their funding.
5 Darrington Quarries and UK Coal update.
The
DQL liaison committee is proving successful, the landfill site manager has
even been seen litter picking in person. The
UK Coal liaison committee is ongoing.
The wheel wash at the colliery is said to be the best which
technology can provide and the “wheel wash” at Womersley tip has been
upgraded to a full body wash. Wagon
drivers have been firmly instructed to ensure wagons are clean.
