Notes from meeting held on Tuesday 19 November 2002

Discussions with planning consultants reported to the meeting.

NYCC Scrutiny Committee are considering recommendations from independent Inspector regarding Waste Local Plan. 

The village representatives on the Darrington Quarry Liaison Committee reported back to the meeting, there was to be a trial of some new machinery which might eliminate the use of the pecker.

After balloting the parish, a clear majority were in favour of upgrading the status of the Parish Meeting to a Parish Council. Any election will coincide with the District Elections in May 2003.

5 persons were nominated to the Educational Trust Fund Committee and briefed to report back at the next meeting. 2 representatives were elected to the Osgoldcross Parish Council Forum.

Planning applications from Manor Farm Bungalow (2 additional detached bungalows and garages) were discussed and observations noted.

More information on the provision of litter bins was requested. There were complaints regarding the state of the roads, noise from unidentified sources around the village and untidy areas at the entrance to the village. These complaints were to be followed up in writing.

£1000 +VAT has been allocated to the village as planning gains.
