Situation to be reviewed at the Parish meeting of 8 April 2003. Anti-Social Behaviour - questions and participants invited for a conference to be held shortly at Riccall Regen Centre. Update from Chairman re Educational Trust Fund The meeting held on 31 Jan 2003 to ascertain interest in a youth club or other project attracted so few people that the youth club project does not seem viable. Library books have been organised from NYCC libraries service, awaiting loan of 30 books. Hence it was felt that it was more appropriate to develop the toy library with educational/musical equipment. Insufficient people meant the table tennis tournament could not go head but nevertheless the children at the meeting did get at least one game and enjoyed refreshments. Further discussion about " The Cridling Walkway". Proposals included widening of existing footpath along the northern edge of the village, kerbed footpath along Northfield Lane and, subject to land being made available, along the inside of the hedge along Wrights Lane. Paved areas and seating were not deemed desirable. Project and funding to be further investigated. (Aggregate Levy Sustainability Fund) DQL update - At the last Liaison Meeting DQL stated they would provide a sketch of a proposed "wet land area" for Darrington East. This has not materialised. NYCC Legal Services have sent a letter to DQL regarding use of the "pecker". Currently the Parish Meeting are awaiting the latest planning application. AOB Residents were asked to support the Broadband4Knottingley campaign in an attempt to get the Knottingley telephone exchange upgraded. There have been complaints about parking of lorries on Wrights Lane. This matter had been taken up with the owner and it was unanimously agreed to write to the owner if the problem reoccurred. There was a report of damage to the trees in the area adjacent to the bypass. Also some other concerns were raised. It was decided to invite PC Patchett to the next meeting. A proposal was made to set up a weekly film show (for 4 weeks) in order to obtain feedback from the young people of the village.
