Pancake Day Fun
Cridling Stubbs Village Hall was, yet again, the venue for much laughter
with pancake racing, table tennis and good food on the menu.
Races were held in three categories, children, veterans and golden oldies.
One participant managed to lose half his pancake before the racing
started, one made “heavy duty” pancakes (with extra flour) and some
(yuk) wanted to actually eat the pancakes they had been tossing!!!! Many of the races were photo–finishes but certainly the Bullough family
were in fine form.
It is hoped that once the Village Hall has been rewired and the (recently
donated) cooker installed it will be possible to have more “pancake
events”. An order for a
pancake with chocolate sauce has already been placed…….. Thank you to all who took part in making this teatime session a big
success. Auction The second “Friends of Cridling Stubbs” auction was held in the
Village Hall on 18th March and raised £266. Adults and children alike had great fun bidding for a
selection of plants, games, toys, textiles, bedroom furniture, cane
furniture, pictures, pottery, glassware, bottles and more. Hopefully, the wardrobe, last seen in the middle of Wrights
Lane, made it safely home! Thank you to everyone who supported this event in any way. At
£50 per hour for planning consultant fees, the fight to improve our
environment proves challenging in many ways. Forthcoming Events Thanks to a generous donation, “Friends of Cridling Stubbs” are
holding a lucky Easter Egg competition.
Pay 50p for one of 60 lucky numbers and keep your fingers crossed. A
competition form is circulating the village. Next Parish Meeting The
next Cridling Stubbs Parish Meeting is to take place on Tuesday 8th April
at 7 pm in the Village Hall. On
the agenda will be the possibility of the Parish buying The Ancient
Shepherd, Darrington Quarries planning application, and the appointment of
a new Parish Clerk. Printer This newsletter is printed courtesy of the Parish’s own printer.
Sorry the colour had to go but it was proving expensive. Table Tennis For a £1 donation, and providing no electricity is used, the Village Hall
is available for table tennis. This
is for a maximum of four players and an adult supervisor must be present
at all times. The Hall must
be booked prior to playing by contacting a Committee member and Village
Hall rules apply. Village Hall AGM Cridling Stubbs Village Hall Committee AGM will be held on Tuesday 8th
April at 6.30 (this is ½ hour before the Parish Meeting).
Everyone is welcome to attend. |
